Found it on CL. Has abunch of dings and dents from being a work truck but it runs and drives good. It has a Ats turbo kit with full exhaust.

that's probably the extra 1000lb of engine doing that nice score, too bad it wasn't extended or crew cab, but you'll at least get better mileage with more power!

The power choke is a different critter being that it's a computer controlled huei system and DI so you should of had decent mileage with all the new fangled tech on board. I was looking at a 95 but my wife would have killed me for spending that much money while being unemployed.

i have a '89 350 crew cab with the 7.3 idi non-turbo, guessing i would say it gets about 16 mpg but i really never figured it out. yours is turboed so it should be better.
powerwise with the turbo you are pretty much maxed out at right about 200hp (yes only 200 hp if that) with nothing really to add to make them better. the things that can be done, air intake, exaust, turn up the fuel pump (should have a egt gauge befor you do that), and a turbo (if it didnt already have one).
oilburners.net has some good info

why is your boost so low? is that normal. I know the newer trucks put out psi in the 30s and higher.

why is your boost so low? is that normal. I know the newer trucks put out psi in the 30s and higher. They have lower compression ratio's like around 17-18:1 and usually have some thing to control boost like a waste gate or variable geo turbo. My particular truck has about 22.5:1 compression and a aftermarket waste gateless turbo system. It's designed not to boost unless there's a load applied. It doesn't build boost til after 2k for the most part and if I had a gated system I would build boost sooner and adjust it to build more of it but untill I put head studs in I will be limited to about 15psi max. The 10 psi was merging on the highway at around 3/4 throttle and slightly over the speed limit...

Finally got a idea of highway milage, it's sitting around 15mpg with the 35's and at 70 mph.

Has a bit of blow by, oil is leaking past the air box seal and going all over the turbo and the back of the engine.
