I got in my springless high steer, not bad for a hundred bucks. I didnt have them drilled for heims because I am going to put in a plate to mae them double shear and box them in and it will be easier to drill through both when its done I always wondered about the spring less arms this must be a off road only thing?? do you have to shim at all?? to get the knuckle tight??

i dont think its an offroad only thing but maybe it is. you have the shim and then there is a tension stud in the middle and a plate. so the more you tighten the stud the more pressure on the shim and the tighter the knuckle. it prevents slop since the spring will only put so much pressure these you can keep tightening till to a certain degree till the slop is gone. I will try and get a pic of the whole assembly cause im probably not making much sence.

Let me try this instead of a spring there is a round washer in the milled section of the arm, and the hole in that milled section is threaded, the more you thread in the stud the more down pressure on the shim the washer places... hopefully thats better

I just wondered cause my crew tends to get the death wobble when I hit pot holes. I've rebuilt the front end with all new parts, and added extra shims to the springs. I'm also running a triple stabilizer and still it can be spooky with 36s on it.

How thick are those? They look easy enough to make at work.

they are 3/4 I will be boxing in a 1/4in plate to put them in double shear... not sure if its overkill but im going to try. you could do it real easy with a plasma table and the top cap off your knuckle...

I have a 1/4 sheet of 3/4 plate, a mill, and after next week a new plasma to play with at work so I may give it a shot. I think the top plate on the rock is smooth so using only the arm should work.
