Have a filler neck welded on so you can relocate the fill spot if you can find another place to put it.

Thanks my vent is in my cap. I may have to think about using one of the mounting screws for a vent or something. I'll look more into it.

I've found this gas cap that may work. I'm trying to find out if it is a screw on cap. If so, that is just what i'm looking for! Plus it's cool looking and say's CBR on it.! What do you guys think? It may still collect sand in the lower parts. I may have to rethink it.. I also see this type of cap. It doesn't look as good, but it may be better. It has a push lock and key, and less recessed area where sand will collect. If we got something like this we would put Velcro over the recessed area to help keep the sand out of the key lock. What do you think?

Velcro? With that idea maybe you can keep the cap the way it is and make a cover (flap of some sort) to keep sand and crap off the cap.

Right now we need. 1. Air to blow out the sand from the cap or we can not twist it and sand will get in the tank. 2. a screw driver because it "snaps" down so hard we can not reopen it with just our fingers. 3. plyers to pull up the cap after it is twisted because it is so tight in the cup. 4. after we get it open, we have a huge whole that gets junk in it easy. I'm hoping we can avoid all that with a different cap.

This quad is truly a beast! Tyler on flats doing over 100mph! cookie - look at the sand it throws. I hate riding by it now! making a tree dig look like nothing! And those are with some bigger sand tires. 22-12-8's, we still need to go bigger for the power of this quad.

Man.. That motor is really shoved in it.. We have been working on it after work for 3 day's now trying to pull the motor out of it without any luck. All the bolts, wires, and plastics have been removed. It appears the welded the motor mounts in after the motor was installed! We have nothing holding it in except one bolt that is welded to the frame and goes though a whole in the case, like a pin. We have removed the nut from the other side. The motor in pinched between the frame and this pin. I think we will have to cut the frame just to pull the motor! Ugh..

Me and my bro had a bike like that awhile back and ended up trading it for a sand rail. no matter what we did the frame would never hold up it got old real fast. It was one hell of a bike to ride on pavement tough

Well we got the motor pulled last night.. But in the process we broke a motor mount spot off the case of the motor! Ugh. It can be welded, but we may just buy another motor. I've found one with under 7,000 miles on it at a wrecking yard. It's all stock. This one has been built but we don't know what all has been done to it. You can see the blueprinting marks on the block and intake ports have been ported and taped for the NOS. Ugh... I still think we are buying the stock one and putting it in for now.

Why are you pulling the motor?

Why are you pulling the motor? 3rd gear started popping out under wide open throttle for some reason (I've been told it's the 'dogs' and could be caused by missing shifts). Anyway we got the motor out but broke a motor mount spot on the block trying to take it out :-(..

Anyone know how to weld aluminum? We broke a motor mount off the case of this motor, since the motor is out, it should be easier to weld :-).. I would be happy to pay someone if they could help me with it.
I'm also looking for someone that can replace the tranny from inside this motor, before labor day :-(
Thanks,
