Ok, decided to start a thread for this rig, will get pics up later. 1986 Chevrolet 2500 4x2 with 454 motor Suburban. Nothing fancy about it. Just going to be using it to tow our 23' 1979 Fleetwood Prowler travel trailr...aka:HOME ;D. Just got a rebuilt carb from mudmaddess1972 put on it yesterday. Will be looking into getting a new radiator from NAPA, as this one has a pin hole leak in the top of it. So I'll have an extra radiator for someone soon. I like to have the lifetime warranty stuff from NAPA ;D. I still need to wire up a 7-prong trailer plug and put in the second battery with isolater. Have everything I need, just a little cold and wet out here to get it installed. I did get a 1964 kerosene jet heater working to heat things up and have and old shop I can work in .

Got the battery isolator installed, not sure if it works right, but it's charging to the second battery and to the trailer plug. The Battery Isolator has 5 posts on it and made by SURE POWER. Also got the 7 prong trailer plug put on the back, just need to get the trailer brake controller wired up.
And get some pics up...lol.

I thought he already had it though and he was trying to sell it a while ago We had a 1982 Chevy 1500 4x4 that we sold, I was trying to sell a 1986 GMC 2500 4x2 for a friend, which Leadfoot bought, and a while ago I was trying to sell the 1986 Chevy 2500 4x2 for another friend, which is the one we have now. Now the friend that sold the 1986 GMC 2500 4x2 also has 2 other suburbans, 1986 C2500 and a 1986 K1500.....confused yet?

The motor, with no A/C anymore. Some of those had York AC's. If so, you can sell it $$.. People use them for Air pumps. Chevtech did one like that years ago.

A/C Compressor was already missing when I got it. Will take out the A/C Condensor when I go to put in a new radiator. Will take it to the scrap yard for money.

well does it drive nice with the carb Ya...defenately can hear and feel the 4-barrels ;D Went from 55mph to 80mph instantly Gotta watch my speed with it, put in a radar detecter just to be safe. Feels a little rough, but seems to be running good, no pings or lack of power. Timing is set at 10 degrees, and have the air/fuel screws turned out about 3 turns with the idle at 600rpm.
