Got the old trans out and found the solenoid plug is full of trans fluid, pretty sure it shouldn't be full of fluid but I'm curious if it is the source of the shifting problems.

It can be, yes. Might want to hold onto that transmission and rebuild it yourself. There are manuals out there for how to do it. It's not actually all that hard if you are organized and have a bench to tear it down on. If you rebuild it right, you'll get 200K out of it.

That's my plan, don't really trust the wrecking yard special I got. I found a good tech write up but I'm still going to get a book and it'll give me a chance to up grade the planetaries to the 95 and up. I did find a neat trick for a c6 build also. Using the 1-2 planetaries out of a e4od will give the c6 a slightly lower 1st and 2nd and is supposed to drop in.

Ug this is slow going but now the transfer is in and bolted up. Now I really need to flush the lines so I can bolt the exhaust up.

Kinda scooped this out of my trans filter, it looks half and half clutch material and metal shavings. I'm hoping no hard parts are trashed, guess I'll see when I tear it down.

Got the tubing today just waiting on the ypipe now. Going to try to get the transcommand put in this week while I button up the trans job. Would have done it already but after all the running around and dealing with checking out of the command I just don't want to do a thing when I get home. Since the trans is used I'm just going to put the bypass plug in the transcommand just to see if the trans feels ok at first then let the banks module do it's thing. I am deffinetly looking forward to the exhaust change for sure, as is it is hard to tell it has a v8 except for when at the pump.

Got the transcommand mounted and harness spliced in, it is easy and straight forward but I can't say I really like the suggested mounting place but for a dd it should be fine.

It's alive. Unfortunately can't drive it yet, after 3.5 gallons of Mercon it's still not on the dip stick.

It seems to drive fine and if I put my foot in it the down shift feels solid but not violent and the harsh up shifts are gone. One thing that bugs me is that if I pull it down to 2 it starts in second. It does take off in 1st in 1 and D. I would think it should take off in 1st in 2 and limit its self to second gear doing so. The last trans did the same thing but shifting was erratic, shifting fine usually in mornings while harsh when warm. Kinda wished I had a c6.

From what I've found is supposedly they are suppose to take off in second with manual second selected, according to a couple guys......

I really find it weird but I usually drive GM and this is my first Ford auto, it's a learning curve I guess.

Stock exhaust is now gone and y-pipe welded to the y-pipe deleting the cat flange and giving a single 3". Started it with just a flowie on the end with no turn down, was not prepared for how loud the truck was. I think it's louder than my stang.
