I got a chance to talk with Jamal this last weekend about our trail.... We were at the bottom of can opener admiring the rock filter when I mentioned how nice it would be to have something simillar on the medium entrance, he was all for it and said that he wants the 4x4 trails to be hard enuff at the begining that peeps won't tear up the trails further up where it's harder to fix it. So if this is something we would like to do on our next work party lets do it ... There are alot of pics of the filter in the pic area from last weekend.

Got an email from Jahmaal today:
Ken, I have a bunch of old cable that could be used. ODF cannot install a winch point for liability purposes. It can be built by users only and it is a use at your own risk item. I support the installation of a winch point but I cannot design it or install it. Discuss it amongst yourselves, lets figure out a time to get out and I’m sure we’ll get something up there. Thanks.

This is a cable that we can attach to the tree at the top right of the rock face on Triple Diamond of 7-UP Trail. Would like to find someone that has knowledge of logging cables so we can get this installed.

having a cable around a tree im not sure if that a good idea. but having a winch point is. Was Jahmaal's idea, the other idea was to sink a rod in the ground with a ring for a winch point, but I think that would cost a lot of money. Unless we could get Hightech Rockfall to do it free? Also, we can have a warning sign put on or next to the tree about the winch point. This has been approved by Jahmaal.
