i like it. your right those tires will not make you happy this winter. i have the same ones on the ford right now and they dont like wet roads. they are ok when they are new for a couple hundred miles then for some reason get slick on the wet stuff.

I got the bumper from the black truck on the K-5, it looks really good, I like it alot. As soon as I can get a hairline crack in the tranny housing fixed I can start driving it, if I can't fix it I might have to find a blown Th400 and swap the guts from this one into a diffrent housing.

I bought a blown TH400 for $25 and was going to put the guts from mine into it. I got it all torn down and cleaned up then I found the cracked and spun rear bearing journal. So I pulled the tranny out Friday morning and got it up the the tranny place in town. They are going to swap the guts into a good case and I don't have to try and put it back together right without any tech manuals. Also with the tranny out I am going to reseal the tcase up so I don't have any more leaks from that. I hope to get the tranny back middle of the week and be able to start driving it this weekend.

After trying to drive the blazer with 4 tires that were not balanced the wife had me go and get new wheels and tires. I am a lucky man. I got Allied 16x10 wheels and 315/75R16 Hanook Dynapro MT's. That way i can use 2 of the old wheels and tires as spares and it still has nice road mannors. it also pulls the boat better.

So November and December were rough for the Blazer. I had to pull the tranny back out and put a new one in because the bell housing cracked about 3/4 of the way around. That one was my fault. After I got that fixed and started driving it again the engine started to knock at about 1800 RPM or so. I pulled the oil pan and found I had 2 pistons that had broken skirts. As best as I can tell the large pieces plugged up the oil pick up and starved the engine of oil. I took the engine to the machine shop thinking I just had a couple bad rod and they found the 3 non end mains were spun really bad. Since I still had the 383 short block in the garage I took that to the shop and had the bottom end freshened up, a new RV cam installed, and the heads and intake from the 350 cleaned up and put on top. I got it back Christmas eve and had it in and running a couple days before the new year. I took it over to PSI and put it on the Dyno and did 4 easy pulls, 3500 RPM to ensure the mixture was good and she put down 200 HP and 250 FT/Lbs of torque at the wheels. Does not sound like a ton for what it is, but with the 35's and not going to high on the RPM's I am happy as hell with the numbers. It has 600 miles on it and as soon as I get to 1500 miles it is going back on the dyno for a full tune and see what kind of numbers I can get out of it.
