no i ran it straight from the battery to a 40 amp circuit breaker to some nice 30 amp cole hersee switches then to the windows, i never had any problems. used it like this for around 2 years.... but it also wouldn't be hard to use a relay but would be a lot more wiring

I can't tell whichwires arev what but I have that same switch I think.

maybe some internet based pictures will help this switch is numbered so i will use it.... basically you are making this switch by using a double pull double and wiring like i did... power is hooked to one side(pin 5 on this picture), ground to the other (pin 2), so if you push the switch up, power goes out the from pin 5 to pin 6 and the motor goes one way when you push it down, power crosses over from pin 4 to pin 3 and reverses the motor ground is obviously the same just the other pins... hope that helped, hard for me to explain for some reason
