hasnt been much activity on this page... meaning i havent done anything lol....NOT...After going to the "40" and overrevving the lil engine a bit, im in the process of repowering one of my spare engines... well not much has happened in that department its all been just tearing down and cleaning, i got the block painted and ready for the crank but haven't torqued it down yet....rods and pistons are all together ready to go... pretty much just the basics lol...
But i did get my head back yesterday so i got down to work on it this afternoon, lapped the valves (my hands hurt now so i had to stop for a while)put new valve seals in and am preparing the head for the new bump stick, then im pretty much stuck until i crosshatch the cylinders, also waiting on my adjustable cam gear, and i gota take the engine out of the runner to use some of its parts...oil pan, pu tube, and some other junk...
im also using this time to fix some subtle things on the front end, i rebuilding my shackles, longer shocks and brake lines (so i can actually use the flex in my RUF setup) and making my own crossover steering... pics will definitely fallow....

Well i got bored waiting to crosshatch the cylinders, so i gasket matched the intake and the head... not much but cleaned er up a bit, may be able to feel something on my seat of the pants dyno... also took finally pulled the block out of the runner, took off the parts i needed. And of course had to investigate what went wrong with the engine... Well low and behold, cylinder #2 had a spun rod bearing, not to bad but the rod is almost def toast, crank doesnt look to bad...... THEN i took off piston #3...WTF lol, THAT was my noise, there was no rod bearing at all LOL.... how this thing had oil pressure is beyond me.... Crank is def toast, may be able to grind it, rod is most likily toast too... abuse, naw... i dont do abuse, its well loved just over revved lol

been neglecting the camera a bit lately...... Got the engine rebuilt, new slugs, bearings, engbldr cam, oil pump, bla bla bla, also ported my head while i was in there.... its got Sh**tons more bottom end torque now.... also took the time to clean up my oil soaked alternator/ ps pump lol....
While my engine was out i did some work on my front suspension/steering, i made my own crossover low steer setup, mounted the IFS box pretty much on my body mount lol, installed 14" stroke shocks with ford mounts, brake line extensions, remade my front shackles also....
soon to come is a hybrid rear leaf pack or whole swap with 2wd f150 springs.... should compliment my RUF pretty well.....
Also found out that 37s (military MT's) will clear in the front under full stuff and not rub, even when turned...... interesting, im planning on either running 36" bias Tsl's or some 35" LTB's (if i can find them)....

well got some pics today while i was out dinking round... some shots of the rebuild engine... doesnt look like it but it def sounds new lol my ford shock mounts and the hole they required my IFS box mounted , almost as far as you can go before you get into the body mount on the frame....will be perfect if i push my axle up another 2" just a little trimming was required my home-made low steer passenger arm.... my pitman arm.... the mounting of the heim in the steering is what scares me the most... i had a piece of square tubing with these heims but i didnt want to run a square drag link . . .it will be a carry along piece in case that heim pulls out of the drag link or that nut on the end comes "un-welded" and the pitman arm will soon be double sheer also, there is juuuusssssttttt enough space between the frame and the bolt head... Btw that is a stock 4wd pitman i took the guts out of... ground a 3/4 fine thread nut round, pushed it in there and finish welded it. Ran a both through the top and lock nutted the bottom... im also going to cross drill it and safety wire it just in case.... Im not planning on driving the runner on the street anymore so there are gona be some radical changes this summer including a cage....
