alright I measured just for kicks to see just how much better off i am with the new setup, the swap to the setup i put on cut my drive shaft angle down almost 7 degrees. And heres the breakdown, I had a 27* angle with my lift and stock t-case with slip yoke accomidated by a single u-joint. It is now at 20* with 2 u-joints so each of the upper u-joints only takes the stress as if the drive shaft was at 10*.. so for about 300 bucks instead of 600 bucks i think its a pretty good improvement.. and I have a drive shaft that will work with the new d-train when i get to that...

well I got my front axle mocked up today, and started breaking it down and all the seals are shot and all the outer hup and spindle bearings are packed with mud grass and gravel!! woo hoo.... and one or more ball joint is bad so I decided to do it right, I got all new bearings and seals, and new moog ball joints, and it only cost me a kidney! ! !
I am going to spend tomorrow morning trying to get the axle welded in and all the new bearings and seals in and hopefully be ready to rock and roll by the end of the weekend...
I will try and get some pics up over the weekend!

heres the brackets, I got them all welded up and ready to go back on tomorrow I still need to build the sprnig pads and track bar bracket but im going to bolt it up to make sure everything goes in like I want it too... heres the solution to the diff bracket I came up with, I dont really wory about breaking anything here!!! the welds look like boogers in the crap light but their pretty clean in good light...

and for those who care the lower brackets are 1/2in thick with 3/16in wrap around reinforcements, and the uppers are 1/4in with 3/16in wrap around reinforcements, except the drivers side upper its 1/4 trippel gusseted with 1/4in..... and most of it is welded using a tripple stich pattern my cousin taught me, you lay a main weld, then you lay a weld from there back up the bracket, and again from the main weld to the diff creating a T shaped weld... if that makes sense.....

got the axle rebuilt, only had one bearing that was shot! everything locks and unlocks proper and spins good... no leaks.... if I can get my welder going again I can wrap this part of the project up!

Nice, wish you could hit fast forward to having it done so you can test it? That would be freakin awesome!!! Its been slow for me because its was my first time breaking down and completely rebuilding a front axle... and its been cold here, and a bit windy which makes welding in the driveway a bit hard!! Im so close now all I need is some spring perches and a trac bar mount... but my welding gun craped on me and I dont have the 120 to replace it... I have a few buddies with welders (220) but I cant get my rig there to weld it up

got the front end welded up and would have had the jeep back on all fours but i got snowed out.....
Ya gotta love buying used parts.. I went to put the brakes on and couldnt compress the pistons, so I gave in and went and turned them in as cores and got some rebuilt ones... Thought it would be bad but it cost me 25 bucks for both! not terrable!

well i got her back on all four! I still have to finnish the steering mount and the steering stabilizer and sway bar and its done! Finally LOL Anyways heres the pics. I ended up with an increase of 2in in wheelbase and an increase of 2in in rear track width and 4in wider track width than I had with my stock axles and 35s.. over stock I am 10in wider up front and 8in wider in the rear... Heres the pics where im at... the track bar and the draglink have almost identical arcs and run paralell... My pro welder! The front end
