First you need to raise and support the vehicle (if replacing the axle shaft) and remove the wheels. Remove the screws/bolts holding the hub together. You may need to tap and pry on the cover to pull it off. You will then have this: Remove the outter lock ring holding the hub "selector" in place. A small pick works best. I used half of the angle-nosed snap ring pliers. Grab the two "ears" and pull straight out. Next remove the snap-ring holding the hub assembly to the axle shaft. You may need to push in on the assembly while doing this. Be careful as there is a spring behind this trying to push it out. Mine got stuck on the way out. Here is how the assembly should be. If all you're doing is the hub replacement, reassembly is just the opposite. I suggest re-greasing things as they go back together, but go easy on the grease. When putting the snap-ring back on the axleshaft to hold the assembly in, you will probably need to reach from behind the knuckle and push the axleshaft out while pushing the hub assembly in, all while trying to install the snap-ring. Once you've done it a few times it becomes easy. Continue on for the axle shaft replacement...

Now remove the two bolts holding the caliper in place and place it out of the way (I lay mine on top of the leaf spring). Now you need your special socket for removal of the spindle nuts. You can see the 4 "ears" that lock into place on the nuts. Remove the first nut. Behind that is a washer. Remove it by pulling it straight out. It works best by using two small picks behind it. There is a second nut that requires the same special socket. Remove it as well. After that is the bearing. You can leave it in place. At this point pull the rotor straight off. Do not tilt it so that the bearing facing you falls out. Place it down on a clean surface, back-side down. Remove the nuts holding the dustshield and spindle in place. Some models may have a bolt just to the side out of view (you can see it on the left in this photo). Pull the dustshield off. You may need to tap lightly along the outside mounting flange of the spindle to pull it straight off. Once you have the spindle off you will have just the axle shaft in place. Simply pull it straight out. If the ears have twisted around the u-joint caps, you will need to cut them off. Or you could even go as far as disconnecting the steering and removing the knuckle that is held on with two large nuts at the top and bottom. Reassembly is just the opposite of removal. I suggest repacking the bearings and greasing everything as you go. Now go break it again.
