Sad to say this is the place where I bought my 383 stroker motor from. I have paperwork saying it is a 460 HP and 465 FPT stroker motor. www.chspdx.com/It had bottom end noise from day one. They don't work on engines in the car, so you would have to take them back out to have them look at it. Supposedly they replaced my motor with another one, but it sounded the same. They told me it was a tork converter nock and not a motor nock. When I took it out of my truck, 3 of the pistons are broken around the top edge. I called them because I have a 5 year / 50,000 mile warranty and the owner (Greg) told me it was due to timing and pinging. 1. I never once heard it ping. 2. The noise was in the “second new motor” when I got it back from them. 3. Funny how he didn’t even want to look at it before making a judgment. I have had other shops look at the motor and the dealer ship looked at it now that I have it out and can take it around. All of them have given me in writing statements about the horrible workmanship put into the motor. I am deciding if I want to take them to court to get my $$ back. I have taken a shop to court before and won, but it is such a pain and so time consuming, I don’t know if I am willing to spend the time to do it again. Bottom line is I would not recommend them.I will post pictures of the pistons and head work once I take them and cool down some more.

i had a car and this transmisson shop charged me 2500 bucks to fix it and it went out 7 times in 6 weeks after they worked on it and they sayed it was because of they way my girl was driving it .. one time the torqe convetrer broke all the bolts . another they but the wrong grear ratio in it and it wouldnt leave first gear . another the spider gear came out shootin out of the case . and when i took it to them the last time because the front pump whent out and started leaking they told me i would have to pay another 2500 buck to fix it that werent going to warrenty it again ... we called the BBB and that really pissed them off they told me to never bring that car back to them for aything

I have not looked at the motor since I posted this. It is up at my dad's house and I get mad thinking about it. I might just buy new pistons for it and make sure the cylinders look fine. I have been thinking of making a truggy with my son, this would make one heack of a motor if I could get it running good.

Did you by any chance pay with Visa? My brother bought a motor once from a shop and it had all kinds of problems and the company stopped honoring its warranty. His gas motor sounded like a diesel. Long story short his wife called Visa and explained everything they'd been through and Visa took the money back from the company and credited their account.

If you want someone GOOD to do your machine work and or assembly, I HIGHLY recommend Jim at Precision Auto Machine in Cornelius. He knows his stuff and is very VERY meticulous. Helluva guy too. He did about $2200 worth of work on the engine in my DSM (for $1500) and some work on my buddy's DSM engine also. does diesels, big blocks, small blocks, strokers, imports........ Damn good prices too. If anyone on here needs something done, tell him Russ sent you and he'll prolly give you a lil deal.

Dave's isn't tooooo bad...... just takes forever and it seems like if they've never seen you in there before they bump the price a little bit. Just what I've seen & heard. I've never personally had them do anything but I have friends that have.

dave's auto is pretty good i have also had work done there and it seemed very fair, for a trans i would go just a bit futher to almost forest grove to dave's trans action i have had over ten trans rebuilt by him and only one problem but he fixed for no charge and all my turbo 350's shift as hard as a 400 now im not sure if he is a little spendy but i think its worth it if you want it done right
