Ill have to dig some pics up, Ill check this weekend. Its an old stocker, But we have been talking about doing a 1ton drive train, with a 150hp 990ftlb of torque electric setup. But he doesnt weld very good, or have much for fab skills so he is waiting till I get home to start it. I definatly think you should keep the tires they look awesome. You should see if you can get a cutaway flare. They would allow you to open the wheel wells up a but to keep those tires from rubin, but allow you too keep that stock style. Are you going to repaint. I might be afraid of whats under that diamond plate, some use that stuff for protection and others for cover up.

So here are the pics. I found some in my email. I want to build a tube frame and cage, then put four link, lengthing the wheelbase around 6in (3 in front 3 in rear), but keep it looking pretty stock. maybe run some 36in will millitary beedlocks. I hope im not adding too much junk to your thread, but I would hope I could make this jeep look alot like yours by the time its done.

dont worry about what you post here i dont care lol i like that cj5 that will look good definately post pics if you end up building it .. and yeah your right the 38s are really growing on me im thinkin about waggy 44s and callin it good i checked out the cutaway flares their spendy around 400.00 but that would probably do the trick or mabie some tube style fenders to that may work.. ... we wanna paint it this summer we will just do it ourselves and yeah there is a little bondo under the rear diamond plate so if the jeep falls apart when we pull the diamond plate lol well at least i can use the diamond plate on the yj lol I really like the looks of the old cjs with the hardtops...

LOL
You I have seen some pretty sweet flat flender flares out there from tubing, I bet you could check out a few pics and replicate, their not too complicated. You probalby only need to open the wells a few inches all around, and it would be just fine. I paid about 350 for my cutaways on ebay, it came in a set of four then I sold the fronts for 275 so it worked out well for me. But I still have thoughts of doing a tube version. Who knows.
