Tried it out today. I ran it hard all day at Browns Camp. It steered great. The only thing I wasn't happy about was that the pump whines now. I lost my drain plug on the front diff on a rock. The best I can figure is that I must of left it loose a couple runs ago. Any way I found the plug and put it back in and borrowed a bottle of gear lube.

I read a lot more on line about this stuff and a lot of people switchimg back to the stock restrictor and it went away. I'll have to get one from the wrecking yard and give that a try. On a side note, I pressure washed it and it is sitting in the drive way waiting for my schedule to open up and go again....

The front fenders got prity badly smashed when I rolled it and I've been kicking around the idea fo some kind of tube fenders for quite a while. So here it is.... It's not done yet but I've got a prity good start. They should be a lot tougher than the factory ones. I'm going to change the headlights out to some tractor lights and add an expanded metal grill...

1-5/8" hrew and 18 guage steel. The steel is turning out kinda wavy because i'm going from flat at the front to curves at the back. Flat black paint will fix that....

Looks welded on in the pic or is it removable for the next time you smash it?

It has a slug it slides down onto in the front and 6-3/8'' nuts welded into the cab that it bolts into. It is tied into the front bumper and it had to be removable because the bumper has to come off to remove the winch...

This is what the frame looks like. I'm going to add a cross bar under the front of the hood too. You can see the blue 4x6 plate with a bolt in each corner. There is an angle iron at the bottom corner with 2 bolts The skin went onto the second one better

I got the fab work (other than the expanded metal grill) all buttoned up today. Its all painted and bolted up. Now all I have to do is wire in the lights. and get some dirt on the shiny paint....LOL

The fender shape in the last pic reminds me of an old datsun. Looks like it should take a pounding.

Thanks. I think it should be a lot stronger than the stock stamped steel. I can't wait to get out and rub them on some trees.... I see the Datsun thing too....LOL
