Been getting a little done on the bronco. It seams for everything I want to get done I have to do it twice. I pulled the front axle from the donor truck but had to put another axle in its place to keep it a roller. Same with the rear. Doesnt seam like a big deal except I am low on jack stands and typically alone. Anyway. The rear 14 bolt is on the floor and needed to be prepped. Front D44 is on stands under the front. 454/TH350/203 is sitting in its location. Picked up a 205 from Mike that I need to swap in today. I think I will start mocking up suspension after the tcase swap.

I got my work cut out for me on the wheels and tires. I went to pick n pull on Wednesday to scout out wheels. Found the perfect set to cut up. Went back on Thursday with tire irons. They charge you for wheels and tires and cant dismount them after 2:30-3:00 so I had to figure a way to do it myself. Turned out to not be so bad since they were 16.5s. The guy at the counter gave me a funny look when I brought a wheel barrel of rims up to the counter with no tires. He asked if I dismounted them in the yard. I said "yup". I think he felt sorry for me so I got them at the 5 lug price instead of the 8 lug price. Saved a couple bucks. They are 8 lug old school white spokes. These are the true white spoke not the new stuff that are just triangles cut out to look like spokes. The are also at least 1/4" thick. The plan is to cut the centers out and turn them on the lathe to true them up and then weld them into another set of wheels to get the 16" wide wheels I want in a 15" 8 lug flavor. I have 4 thick white spokes to work with along with 2 15"x16" rims along with 6 white spoke 15"x12" 6 lug wheels. If I have to I will cut and splice some wheels to get the width I want. It would be easier to just buy the right wheels but this build is being done on practically no budget so no funds available for new stuff. Piles of wheels and paddles.

Swapped the 32 spline output from my divorced case into the chevy case. Also got the 205 mocked up in place.

You can see the length difference. 203 was gonna give me lots of clearance issues. 205 corrected it.

The dates are correct. I got it back in 06 I think when we still lived in Newberg. The original plan was to strip my truck down and build this. Part way thru the build I got mad at it because something didnt come out square when I was done plus changed my mind on stripping my rig. So I pushed it out side for 7 years.
We decided we needed to get a sand rig with 4 seats and I thought this would make for a good start. Not to mention i cant stand not having a project. If I didnt start back on this I would have torn my truck down or something.
So it is a brought from the dead project that should get finished this summer. Was hoping before summerbash but dont think i am that quick. maybe by september?

Made up some bushings and motor mounts. Would have been easier to buy them but I had the material and not the cash so a couple hours of fab did the trick. I cut the bushings out of a solid chunk. That took me a while. The tubing is just 2" 1/4 wall DOM.

The bronco was set up for stock chevy mounts but I made them 7 years ago and were pretty hack. This should bring it up to a better standard.
