think I might be having some carb issues again..... it has acted like its out of gas a few times..... stalls but it will restart after cranking for a bit...... on sat it died in front of my place and I could not get it to restart....I let it sit for an hour and it started right up and I parked it.....I also noticed some fuel leaking from the carb..... maybe its fuel injection time

Q-jets are nutorious for having the plug in the bottom of the float bowl rot out. Pull the top of the carb off. take out the float. Clean up the bottom, and J B weld it. I've seen fancy fixes on tv where they drill it out, tap the hole, cut down a bolt to make a new plug and then J B weld.

dang.... thats bigger than what I need..... have a few people asking around for me and my boss has several Q jets, just needs to see what he has .... the q jet I have now is a 4mv series w/ a divorced choke( not hooked up) and it should have m4mc/e4me series q jet w/ elec choke on it.i saw a 1405 eldebock(600cfm man choke) on CL for $150.... might end up finding a good core and building a carb..... we'll see what happens

thanks for the offer skc, but a holley carb not gonna work for me.they always seem to want share space with the egr valve.......basicly I am looking for a Q jet or edelbrock carb, vacuum secondaries, electric choke 600-650 cfm...... the q jet I currently have is worn out, mixture screws and a few other parts are shot..... what I really want is to find a 1405 or 1406 eldebrock carb core in good rebuildable shape and put spring loaded neddles and seats in it during the rebuild. if its a 1405 I will also convert it to electric choke
