Not a bad idea, but with 63s and inboard? that's a lot of flex your going to have, what if your on a little bit of a side hill, its going to lean a lot. How about just under the frame? I have a set of 59's that I'm going to put under the jimmy. And put them directly under the frame so I don't have to move the gas tank, if all go's to plan. Good call on the fuel tank. I'm probly not going to do it. Just wandering what other people thaught of the idea. I havent measured on the burb body to see how far back the back end of the spring will be in relation to the bumper. I was thinking that if it was far enough back I could mount them under the bumper and a cross member in front of the tank. I'm still thinking about it and am going to measure it all out. (just for curiosity sake) Unless it looks too good to pass up. It would be funny to have to add a sway bar when I'm done.

The hood looked in good shape. Was it? Why not keep as a spare?

The front edge was starting to rust through prity bad. I offered it to jon4runner for his kermit the blazer build. He didn't need it. I didn't think to post it up for anyone else.... Sorry.... It was a lot faster to pull the front clip off as 1 peice and put the other parts in it, too.

got the rear springs bolted on and under the frame. I need the spring hangers off of the burb frame to hang the springs on the frame. So... it's time to drag thee frame out from under it and start to tear it apart... Tomorrow.

Didn't get much done on it last night. Just got some brackets torched off of the suburban frame that I will need. I tried to get the bolts out of the rear springs and they wouldn't come out. Even with a 3/4" drive impact....

Ya I'm trying to get in a little each day. Except for sunday. It's not at my house and my wife likes to have me home a little. She is being a good sport so far.... She was a lil choked up seeing the old one go away... She wants me to keep the same name and color scheem on it. She wants the lights on the top too. I'm not sure about keeping the lights though. I'll be glad when it's going again. Some people think I'm crazy to tear apart a good truck that worked well. It'll be worth it when I'm done. My wife says that if it doesn't win races when it's done, Were scrapping it. I think she might have been feeling her oats a little.

Ya that's how my wife feels too... That's fine. I got the rear spring perches on tonight. The truck is sitting on the axels now. Next I need to bolt down the motor and trans. mounts and the steering box. Tighten all of the spring bolts. Figure out the install on the fuel tank. Do a little more welding, and weld on the trac bar mounts. (to the frame) My new body bushings are suposed to come in tomorrow. My plan is to loosely bolt the mounts to the body and lower it into place on the frame. When it is where I want it, I will tac weld the mounts, un bolt and lift up the body and weld them solid. ( so I don't burn up the new body bushings)

The truck was red and white 2 tone when I first built it. Then I painted it like this. Thease pics is from the "themud.com" 1999 pics It was black with auto after market stickers all over it, for a long time. About 4 years ago I painted it tan like my first chevy, The original possum truck. (that I totaled)
