well got it running today, need to get a bunch of stuff from the auto parts store to get it all fixed up. I don't think the 3000 stall is a good idea, its going to heat things up a lot pushing all that drive train don't you think?

the stall is usually set up to match the torque curve of the eng. If your motor is built to run a 3000 stall and your gonna mudbog it then I would run the stall.l

The stall in the converter. Stock convertrs have a stall around 700-1100 rpms depending on application. When you start building up your motor and getting a radical cam you need a higher stall converter. Big lift cams dont put out much power at idle like a stock cam does. By stalling the torque converter the engine will be at a speed it should be to "launch" off the line. I know this isnt a technical explaination but is close.

You will want to run a realy good cooler though. My 454 that I was running had a 3500 stall and it was a lot of fun. If I didn't keep an eye on the trans temp, it would get too hot some times. I tried a stock converter one time, and it would have a hard time taking off from a stop. (wanted to stall) That's where it would be nice to have a 4 speed....

Was thinking of a motor swap, what do you think? the nova engine is a 350 with forged flat tops and 64 cc heads 9.6 to 1 compression. dart heads with 2.05 int 1.60 exh valves, 230cc intake runners, super victor intake, large long tube headers, solid cam with around 540 lift on the intake and 580 on the exhaust. I use a 3000 stall in the nova, so Im not sure how well this thing will work with out it. This thing is going to be more a mud bogger, and not on a trail rig, so? what do you think? I say do it just remember this has been done before remember the brown truck "death trap" only gas is more expensive now and worse quality gas "ethanal" but atleast you have a trailer now. may have to run race gas keep the pistons together. Oh ya RUN THE NOS!!!!!!!!!!

ANY idea what it costs to get them recentered? I run spacers on my rig with hummer nims, 2in in the rear and 1.5in in the front.

also need to get the run flat eliminaters from them. Are you talking about the pvc incerts? I was just planning on removing the run flat portion leaving the other piece in there.
