Ok, guys, Its time... I figured I should go ahead and advertise a race on here. Ya never know, you might just like it... Sutherlin Blackberry Festival Mud Races, June 4th. Its a saturday, and the races start at 11:00 am sharp, but you gotta be through tech by 10:45. Tech opens at 7:00 AM. maybe earlier. its $20 bucks a truck, and $5 bucks for one extra driver. Side by Side mud racing in a foot of mud, on a 300 foot track, double elims. Flag start, flag finish, whoever gets there first wins. heres the link to the rules... sutherlinbbfest.org/MudRacesRules.htm Ive been running these races for 8 years, and Ive never taken 1st place in my class, but Ill give every one of yous a run for your money... Got the cojones? all proceeds go to scholarships, and to pay for the land that we are racing on to be turned into a park. dont worry, we get to keep racing...

I will have to pass on this one......Classifications too steep....It would be the only time in over 50 mud drag events that I my rig would be put in the Super modified class all cause of a little ol big block ... and I don't have harnesses which would keep me from being able to run.

It says that in yhe modified class "vehichle must maintain same or smaller motor than factory equipped" I don't know of any blzers that came stock w/ a 454. Mine is a stock lower end w/ cam, intake, carb, headers, exhaust, coil.

sounds like you are going to be in the modified class, or maybe even lower... If you run a vac secondary carb, that might keep you in the stock class... I had put that line in there a couple years back, hadnt looked at it really hard... I might have to take it out... basically, that rule was set up for toyotas that had a small block swap, or chevys that had a caddy swap... it doesnt really apply too well, so dont worry too much about it.

OK then may try to make it down.. .. I am usually put in the road & trail or Superstock class at most events and currently am running a vac/sec carb. I do love to race ;D

Let me put it this way...
To tech in we go over each truck... as we look, we can tell by the visual mods on each truck as to whether its stock, modified, supermodified, or unlimited.
If you have an intake and headers, you may stay in the stock class. but if you have an aftermarket distributor or an MSD box, then you get bumped to modified... it only takes a 3rd visible modification to bump you to modified.
For example, i am running a big block in a short bed, and i have the following modifications: Weiand Dual plane intake = one modification headers = one modification holley 800 doubler pumper = one modification Accell dual point dist. = one modification
thats all thats visible from the engine compartment... i also have an MSD 7A under the dash where the heater box was...
I run in the modified class with the smallest big block in the class. It aint fast, but its not a slouch either.
