Does anyone know what that thing is on the ceiling of a cherokee limited? It looks like it may have been a clock or compass or something but mine was ripped out before I got the jeep. Thanks!!

Thanks for the pictures. Mine's way older than that. It was probably a clock. I think they still used a sextant back then. If I can get the $#^%*#^ thing to start maybe I can go find a donor at the junkyard to replace it. Or maybe I'll just jump up and down on the hood and scream until they take me to the "hospital" for some "rest"...

Hey how about a little help? Well I always wanted a 4x4 but FOR ME only a Chevy would do, any way ,I finally picked up an 82 it ran good for a while but when came time for smog it didn't pass. So it sat for a couple of years and now I'm trying to put a little money into it to get it running. I pulled the carb and starter. The carb sucked in the foam lining in the filter cover ( the previous owner monkey rigged it) and choked my carb. I pulled the starter because it there is an oil leak at the rear main seal and it's mess. I am mechanically inclined are these trucks easy to work on? Also I want to run 38/38.5 what should I run for a rear and front end. I'll send some pics when I take em.

So now it doesnt run? As for axles if your just gonna run mud and light wheeling a d44 front will be fine. If you plan on running hard then start looking for a d60

From my experience running 36s with a dana 44 front, I would suggest that if you plan on doing anything that isn't on pavement go dana 60s... dana 44's axel shafts and u joints snap pretty easily especially with 38's or 38.5s. lol no offense poorboy I don't want to sound like i'm slappin yeah but 38s are pretty darn big for a weak axel... lmao ~Crazy

I ran 38's for 2 years on a d44 with no problems until I put a locker in and then I broke all the time.
