I hate to sound redondant and don't want to sound like I'm beating a dead horse. I am only posting this as an informational post for the newbs and people that are unaware of it. I pulled this from an earlier post I had made after a trip to the Estacada ranger station.
Here is the skinny on wheeling in Estacada and surrounding area's. There are NO established trail systems for class 2 ohv's (jeeps, suv's and trucks) at this time. You can travel on marked and established unimproved roads there are maps at the local station for 10 bucks that list these roads However, there are plans in process to add three new areas. One at dee-flats (across from prometory) zig-zag (above Sandy) and some where on the east side of Mt-Hood. I have the name of the person who is heading it up and will get as much information as I can. I know they will be having an open house soon but it is not scheculed as of yet. I will keep you all updated on the progress and let you all know what is going on. Hopefully we can get this as it would be great to see trails opened instead of closed.

Awsome.. Sounds kind of like what we have going up at Yacolt Burns near Vancouver/Washougal in SW Washington. If you need any help or model for the work you are doing contact me and I will put you in touch with people who are doing this type of work.. They may have some information that may help you. Dave.

all the good stuff is gated off up there because of people being stupid, like ditching stolen cars up there, torching abandoned cars people shooting at cars etc etc...used to be a awesome mudpit off of hillockburn about a mile or less after the last houses, but some moron decided that would be a good place to torch and shoot up his s-10.... not really worth going up thare anymore with the price of gas what it is... used to be cool up there

only worth it if ya plan to stay on the main roads or cleaning up trash...... Dispite what i keep reading in orther post on other sites...... It's still not a legal wheeling area...
unless ya can get a sherriff to sign a paper saying it is legal to wheel up there, but that won't happen

espescially since its illegal and contributing to the demise of our sport. some people actually take the sport seriously and follow the rules.
