I've been slacking with the holiday season as far as getting my Tracker rebuilt, hopefully have it ripped apart this weekend and get the parts ordered... But since I've been DD'ing the tank it's been doing amazing! It starts right up on cold days even without the block heater, and is getting around 16mpg on my commute which I think is pretty good for a 7800lb truck . I still need to lower it a little which will help the steering angles, then get new shocks...

Didn't think about asking, dang... I just ordered a bunch of parts to tune the thing up that can't hurt anything... glow plug relay, glow plugs, injector O rings, coolant reservoir cap, and parking brake shoes for the Ranger's new brakes.

When are you re-sealing the injectors?

I don't know, saw it on youtube and sounded like a good idea, need to do it before April though... might tackle most of that in a couple weeks, will probably do the glow plug relay the day it shows up...

I never got to resealing the injectors, I did replace the valve cover gaskets though, I should have replaced or at least checked the glow plugs at that point but I wasn't in the mood and running out of time, it's not comfy laying on top of a 7.3L . Since the last posting I had the speedometer give out on me, was expecting the worst but it was just a bad connection at the speedometer. I also fixed my clutch linkage to the master cylinder and now the clutch fully disengages which makes shifting into 1st and R much easier. Other than that I've just been driving the thing, it's been running better every time I tow something stupid , after I peaked the pass on the way to Christmas Valley in April it gained a little power and started getting better mileage. Now if I'm relatively nice to it I can get 17mpg commuting, I took it to Madras for Memorial day and got almost 18mpg on that trip... when I got back my starter failed so I got the bigger starter for the 2003 7.3L's which is crazy powerful compared to what was there! On the towing stupid things checklist was a couple months ago I towed a tractor for my mom/brother, it was on a 2500lb trailer, tractor somewhere around 12k pounds, I think it was 23K lb total weight with truck... at least it was only about 25 miles

You should get rid of what looks like a specter air filter. Simple 4" 45* elbow and a 6637 will do a better job at keeping dirt out of your turbo.

It is a Spectra, and I've been meaning to get rid of it but haven't had the time. So just a Napa 6637? That should be easy enough

Buddy of mine can get them way cheaper. $20 for a baldwin equivalent. Think I get them for $27 from work which was still a bit cheaper then the Napa #6637

Luckily this thing still runs, and is doing good, since everything else is breaking... For a day I was down to the tank out of all the street legal stuff I have... Last saturday at about 5 the Ranger blew a rod and the Tracker was a day from being back on the road, and my motorcycle was sitting without a chain...
