It has had a lot of work done to it, new carpet, seats, head liner, 12v converted with a alt and painless wiring kit, dual port dual carb engine, have no clue on size the girl couldn't remember. Came with new stereo speakers and amp still in the box. Didn't run till today, original fuel line collapsed. It sat too long so it's in need of a tune up.

If I remember correctly if the engine is still stock it should be a 40hp (1500cc) engine. But with it being a dual port, most likely a 1600. Easiest way to find out is take a look at the serial number on the block. Should be just down from the alternator. Usually start of with a letter, then do a search on google for VW engine codes. I have a '71 Super that is going to be fixed up when my Ramcharger is out of the garage. Pretty nice looking car though.

I guess I could do that, it may not be correct though if it's got a set of bigger cylinders slid in. Atleast id know what the block should be. Thanks, just need to find a pass fender, hood and maybe doors, I'm not a fan of the Cali windows.
Chevboy, you got a stinger for a full sheet metal car?

Be prepared to spend some money, they're not as cheap as they used to be unless it's a complete basket case. It was between this 65 and a unmolested 67. This one one out narrowly.

turn it into a baja then u both win Wife hates baja's but is fine with a bug slammed on the ground. Dunno how that makes sense, I just keep the peace and say 'yes dear'.

Not entirely, just need to keep an eye out for one that has been on the market for awhile and see if they take lower. Bought mine for $900 after being for sale for about 7 months. The guy was asking $1200 for it, cost me a new starter and it fired up after some adjustments and runs good. It does need some things but it would be driveable if it ever stops raining long enough for me to fix the rear brake lines.

Well factor in the year and amount of work that's been done or how original it is, I'm not saying a deal isn't out there but if there is specific things a person is looking for and or time line then they are probably going to pay for it. I'm not a big fan of any thing newer then 67, I really love the big five lug. I don't know how many 68's and up I told my wife no on while we were looking.
