Yeah it got sucked up into the tube. Might explain the lack of power at browns camp. There's already less air and then I had that thing acting more like a plug than a filter.

Well after another horrible wheeling trip with my coils popping out constantly popping I'm gonna park this hunk o junk until i got some j hooks, which i think i found some on Bronco graveyard. Both of my shocks have now been crushed between the tire and frame so i need to buy pair of those too, although i needed to anyways. Also one of my brake hard lines (I think they are called hard lines at least) was pinched and i don't have brakes right now. No pressure in the lines and I'm out of fluid.

mabey its not pinched if your out of fluid, check for leaks or cracked line, if it was pinched depending on where its at you should still have fluid in your brake resivor, ............... just my 2cnts, GOOD LUCK, sounds like you have the other issues covered

I just threw away a good set of shocks too. Hey now Pat, low blow. Rather rock a F'd Over Rebuilt Dodge than a shove it or leave it... Chevrolet.

I'm not really a ford guy so those jokes dont bug me much. Memorial day weekend Found On Road Dead would have been suitable lol.
Yeah i found the problem, the line was pinched and looked like it was punctured and their was fluid all over the place. I'm gonna measure the line and see if my local Napa has a line that we can make work. Then im gonna buy like a gallon of brake fluid and keep it in the rig!

Way to stick to the brand, your a ford owner! Lol. There's a fitting that accepts a double flare on both ends, I used one to splice a 'euro' fitting to my rear brake line when I swapped a 8.8 from a 96 cobra in to my coupe. A couple of those would be handy on the trail and sounds like you could have used one.

If I can afford it I will definitely buy spares. Nothing like finding out you don't have brakes as you are rolling backwards down a hill........

I found out why I don't have brakes. The driver side line ripped out of the hard line. I guess I don't have extended brake lines. That's another thing on the long, long list of crap to fix lol. But on the more positive side, I think I have found a way to keep my coils in. The top of the coil tower Soren have anything in the center so I'm gonna take some really strong hose clamps and use them to hold it in place. I also need to get some new shocks too. The old ones were crushed when the coils popped and the tire was in the fender.

Finally went and picked up the v8. It's probably gonna be sitting for a while before I get any work done to it.
I got all new brake lines up front and as I was checking out the bleeder lines(one was stripped) I noticed the pin that holds the caliper on was almost backed all the way out. I pulled the tire and I was putting it back I noticed one of the brake Pads was completely gone. So I popped the caliper off and as I was putting another one in I noticed the piston was on pieces.
Another $40 down the drain and I have some new calipers on the way. And after I get them on I just gotta bleed the brakes and put my sweet limiting CHains on and I'll be ready to wheel!!!

I guess I messed up the new brake lines. Gonna give it another shot next weekend after payday with some new ones.

Ok guys I think my problems are a lot worse than I think they are. I replaced the front lines and I'm pretty sure I messed them up, so I bought a plug so I could atleast limp around browns camp and have a little fun. Well I still don't have any brake pressure. Fluid is coming out of the rear lines and I did it until I was getting clean fluid. there was some pressure when the engine was Off but when I start it i lose all pressure.
Now a buddy said hE could here air being sucked through the cap of the master cylindEr. Could he cap be bad and that's my issue? I'm kind of a brake noob so I'm totally Lost here.
There is no fluid leaking into the can or around the master cylinder, and it's supposedly fairly new, but could it be bad?
I'm lost.

He could be hearing a vacuum leak at the grommet in the booster. If its doing what you said and it's hissing at the cap that air has to go through the cap and booster to the vacuum line running to the engine. Probably should verify where the leak is coming from like wiggle the vac line, it'll usually change, and I guess plug the vent in the cap. Couple basic booster tests is run the rig and shut off, pump the pedal, should get atleast 2 good brake booster applications. Also with the engine off apply the brakes and start the rig, the brake pedal should fall away from your foot briefly then come back up. Make sure the grommet for the vacuum check valve is good first.
I re-read and just adding that sensation of you losing pressure is probably the booster doing it's job and assisting your foot.
Is the hissing constant or just while pumping the brakes?
If you got air in the master cylinder it could take a bit to get it all out and there's a proper sequence to bleeding, if you don't know it and don't have a book or the info, a general rule of thumb is to start at the farthest bleeder and work up to the master cylinder.

I checked the vaccume hose and it's not that. The hissing noise is only when the pedal is pressed down. And I bled the brakes and there was no air coming out. It was dirty but there was no air.

Sounds like you still have air in the master cylinder. Run two brake lines from the ports into the res and pump till there's no more bubbles.
