I have seen a few split bell housings and a few split tcase adapters so I definatly want as much support as possible. It would suck to break a tcase adapter or bell housing over a $40 Bushing. I saw somewhere someone that built a tranny - tcase mount with solid connections then ran bushings from the skid to the chassis? Not sure if it was on here but Has crossed my mind might be a good idea...

I haven't seen that.
It also helps making sure all the mounting bolts go in easily. If the T-case or motor has to be pried around to get the bolts in, something is not lined up right and there would be extra stress on the mounts possible causing failure.

My trans and t case are mounted solid to the crossmemer and the crossmember has bushings at the frame.

i probably saw it on one of your rigs buildups and it just stuck as a good idea. Looking back would you do it that way again?

also do you wheeln folk think a 63in wide body would be too wide. I never had problems in my wrangler which is 59 plus 8in for both the sliders? But I hate to get going and find out its too wide? I was worried about tire coverage for street use, but I could also run nylon spacers to hold the body panels out for street use and pull them for offroading?

Yep the s10 tons is definatly where I saw it most recently... and its a super clean design, I like it. and it kills two birds with 1 stone, since it gives a way to take down the x-member and cushions the d-train. I have to go back and reread possums, and poorboys builds to get more info on the topic.. Thanks for the imput guys.

Alright small update, got all my adapters got the tranny put up for good. I have had tons of hours but it looks back the way it was. I had an issue with the AA adapter kit, it had the tcase clocked down a little so the output was 2in higher then the outside which had my tcase output run straight at the axle paralell to the ground at full compression, so I drilled and tapped new holes into the transfer case and clocked it back up, now its paralell to the ground. And I was able to dropp the tranny and the oil pan for the engine tranny and tcase are all on the same plane and the output now points about 7in below the axle yoke. Now at ride height the rear drive shaft should be paralell to the ground and wont have binding issues at full extension. Will have all my tabs and brackets late next week and will get started on some stuff that will actually show up in the pictures as progress... LOL
