yeah, air in the cylinders and a screw type compressor, or a makeshift lever compressor if I can't get the other style to work, not a whole lot of room in there with 16 valves all with the stem lower than the top of the valve cover sealing surface...

Sounds like a whole lot of not very fun. I got one of the hoky pry bar styles, duno if it'll work on a 4 valver. That thing have ohc or it a push rod engine?

I don't think one of the pry bar ones will work in stock form, all of the available bolts at the top are 6mm and are only 6 of them... not to mention the valve springs are maybe 1 1/4" diameter max. I think there's one of the bar styles at work I can borrow, I'll look at it and see what it looks like.
It's an OHC, the intake valves are pushed down straight from the cam and exhaust have rockers... it's TIGHT in there...

There was some weird one that hooked to the cam when my buddy have that sc dohc svt engine out and apart. Can't remember how much or if it is any good.

4bt would solve the problem. Just picked up some 1" thick steel sticks, might beable to make something with a chunk of that stuff. I can't picture using it for any thing any time soon.
