I'm getting ready to build my role cage from scratch. What is the best way to attach the role cage to the frame when the frame is narrower than the body??? I want the cage to be as wide as the interior of the body. Of course the tub here will be comp cut and the frame shortened Attachments:

you should make some L brackets where you bend a 90 of tubing and weld it to the frame and then sandwich the body.. if that makes sense.. its not a bad idea to use a poly bushing in there somewhere to isolate the body..

Makes sense, I've seen a cage where 1-3/4" exhaust flanges were used on both sides of the floor so the cage could be unbolted and removed. I guess a bushing could be sandwiched in there. I was thinking about welding factory cab mounts to the side of the frame and coming up off those, but the 90 degree bend seems easier and probably stronger.

make sure were you sandwhich the frame that the inside and outside peices are of differant size (outside is 3x3 where inside is 4x4) so there isnt a common bending point above and below.... dont know if i explained that well enough.....

Thanks I might take you up on that. I'm probably a few weeks from starting the cage. Taking 42 inches out of the truck frame and remounting the jeep tub this week. Then I got to round up the tubing. Got to get my ducks in a row .

if you do a full cage front to rear i dont see a need for bushings personally. usually the bushings are for a in tub cage mounted to the frame so it doesnt crack the tub. A full bumper to bumper cage should make the whole frame rigid if done right so there wouldnt be any flex.

i dont see any need for them at all unless you want it removable like the one in the pic above. but i am no expert by any means.

you could always come out with nerf bars and go through the floor with the cage and connect to the n bars

you could always come out with nerf bars and go through the floor with the cage and connect to the n bars uh......yeah thats what everybody said, SLIDERS. nerf bars is the gay term for a big 2 1/2" tube
